Platon IoT Plataform as Service for Infrastructure Management in Smart Cities

The Platon project allows the development of the CityExplorer Platform as a Service for infrastructure management and offers multiple services such as monitoring and remote control of energy efficiency, agro-food and environmental resources.

The platform will provide open and flexible interfaces that ensure the interoperability and incorporation of external components. For this purpose, the following specific objectives are presented:

  1. Design of the platform according to a layer model to allow the flexibility in its design and at the same time the component modularization that enable different types of deployments depending on the scenarios of the required intelligent infrastructures.
  2. Creation of an intelligence layer for the monitoring data analysis that allows the application of intelligent technology as Big Data to design models and make decisions adapted to the needs.
  3. Definition of standard interfaces for interconnecting sensors and at the same time allowing interaction with other platforms in particular the initiatives of the EU FIWARE platform enabling integration into other systems and increasing the exploitation potential.
  4. Experiment with new models of sensors to be able to optimize their processing, facilitate their interaction with an IP and increase the communication security and privacy.

The Platon project of “IoT as a Services Platform for Management of Infrastructures in Environments of Smart Cities” of OdinS has been co-financed by the Regional Development Institute of Murcia and the European Fund for Regional Development (FEDER).
